concert at Centre Culturel Franco-Mozambicain

Tonight we had our night at the 'Franco' in Maputo. Although we were very nervous because things got sorted out only at the last minute, the evening was a great succes. The hall was packed with people sitting everywhere on seats, on the floor and on the stairs. The audience was very concentrated and enthousiastic. I loved the choreography of George Khumalo which started the evening. The composition of George van Dam for timbila and violin was a fine piece of music. And Miquel Bernat was brilliant in Xenakis' "Rebounds". That were for me the strongest moments of a composed programme with many other good moments. Here is only one picture of the two musicians of Ictus performing at the end of the evening together with the two Mozambican musicians Matchume and Chen. Unfortunately I could not make good pictures of George Khumalo's choreography.
